Crock Pot Cabbage Rolls

  • Wash cabbage leaves. Boil 4 cups water. Turn off heat. Soak leaves in water for 5 minutes. Remove, drain and cool.
  • Cook ground beef with chopped garlic and onions until browned and then mix with cooked rice, salt, pepper and thyme.
  • Place 2 tablespoons meat mixture on each leaf and roll firmly. Stack in a crockpot or slow cooker.
  • Combine tomato paste and water and pour over stuffed cabbage rolls.
  • Cover and cook on low setting for 8 - 10 hours.

  1. Very good comfort food that is ready when I walked in the door! By the way I used uncooked rice and the filling/cabbage rolls came out fine and the rice was cooked and tender -- used 1/2 cup raw rice. but otherwise made as directed. Thanks for sharing!
