Crock-Pot Chicken and Stuffing (5 Ww Points)

"from ww message boards NOTE: if you have a newer crockpot, i would only cook for about 4 1/2 -5 hours otherwise you will end up with dry chicken and a mushy mess. this does have a great flavor though, just try not to overcook it. :)"

Questions & Replies

  1. Can I use frozen chicken breasts?

  2. Are you supposed to mix the stuffing together like it says on the box, and then mix it together with the soup and another 1/2 cup of water or just mix the package of stuffing with the soup and 1/2 cup of water?

  3. I'm making this today. Wow, you weren't kidding about it looking like a mushy mess. Mine is drying and the stuffing is sticking to my crock pot, so I added a lot more Chicken broth. The chicken broth is only 20 calories for the whole carton (4 cups). It's still got a few hours to go, I hope it turns out okay. Wondering about the points, this looks like a lot of food.

  1. I had no idea what WW meant. I tried this because I was lazy and didn't want to go to the store and had these 5 items on hand. I only had Rachel Ray chicken stock in the house, which is low fat, not fat free. I also had a package of mushrooms that I needed to use, and a small white onion so I tossed them in also. It was AMAZING....the house smelled so good! And as this to die for meal was literally cooking ITESELF.....I sat on my butt and watched movies. BLISS!!!!

  2. WW points plus is 9, not 5!

  3. let me begin by saying that I did not make this recipe exactly as written...1st I used a 24 oz. 5 serv. pouch of Perdue's Perfect Portions, Italian...2nd I used the lower sodium chicken flavored Stove Top...3rd I used cream of chicken soup instead of mushroom...4th I used leftover fat free chicken broth instead of the water...5th I added 1 tb. lime juice and 1 tb. minced garlic from a jar...I followed the basic prep, but cooked it on HI in a 6 qt. Farberware crockpot for 3 hrs, at which point it was beginning to brown around the edges & the chicken was completely cooked...It was very yummy, I had 2 servings, LOL...this recipe was a great starting point...next time I'll add vegetables b4 I add the stuffing...thanks for sharing!

  4. What a great recipe. I used recipe#360192 as a sustitute for the cream of mushroom soup (borrowed a 1/2 cup of the chicken broth I poured over the chicken). Took about 4 1/2 hours on low in my crockpot. This does not taste like a weight watcher recipe!

  5. If you have a newer slow cooker, do NOT cook it for seven hours. The meat was falling apart when I checked it at the 3 and a half hour mark. Had it with cranberry sauce and some broccoli and it was delicious. The next time I make this, I plan to add green beans to it.

Tweaks

  1. I took the advice posted on here and cooked this for just over 4 hours. I also added FF chicken broth, more than the recipe called for, because otherwise it would have been pretty dry.
