"The abundance of apples and onions provide all the liquid needed in this unusual chicken curry. Serve this over rice, sprinkled with sliced almonds and bits of candied ginger."

  1. Geema I love your recipes but this one just didn't do it for me. I thought that I would love the apple, onion, curry combination. It ended up having a rather sharp flavor and actually a bit bland. The almonds & ginger on top helped but it needed more. Perhaps increasing the curry to 2 tbsp. I used skinless, boneless breasts so in order to keep them moist I covered them with half the apple onion mixture. They were lovely & moist. I cooked them on low for 7 hours. As I said Geema I love your recipes but this one just didn't work for me

  2. I'm sorry, Geema, but I couldn't give this a higher rating. This was an easy dish to prepare, but my family agreed that it was lacking something. I followed the directions exactly, but it turned out pretty bland, and the apples and onions were very mushy by the time it was done. If I were to make it again, I would probably try putting in half the spices at the beginning and half during the last hour of cooking, because I've read that a lot of their flavor is cooked away in a slow cooker.

  3. I had to admit I was nervous about making this... never made a thing with curry in it before. My roommate and friend finished the whole pot of food in one evening. The only prob was cleaning up... was hard to scrub everything out of the pot. It was very Yummy and worth the scrubbing!
