directions

  • Brown meat and onion in skillet. Drain off fat.
  • Add jar of spaghetti sauce and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes (if the sauce is too thick, you may want to add about a 1/2 cup of water to thin it).
  • In a separate bowl, combine all the cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese (except reserved 1/2 cup) and the egg.
  • Mix thoroughly. Spoon a layer of meat sauce onto the bottom of crock cooker. Add *two* layers of uncooked lasagna noodles (broken into small pieces to make them fit) and then top with cheese mixture.
  • Repeat with sauce, noodles, and cheese mixture until all are used.
  • Sprinkle reserved 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella on very top.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for approximately 3 hours.

  1. I doubled the recipe for a work dinner (large crockpot) and cooked it on high for 4 hours, and it was GREAT! I worried about it burning, (talked about in several recipes like this, esp. when cooked on high). That didn't happen. I oiled the crockpot, also something from other recipes, and with the double recipe it was filled to the brim but it did very well and was LOVED by all. I added green onions to the cheese layer because I like it. I ended with putting some sauce on the cheese to "cover" it before I put on the mozzerella topping-I liked the way the top looked when I did that. Thank you--I will make this again, and my co-workers will make sure I do!!

  2. This was so good and so easy! The only thing I found negative was there was no cottage cheese in the list of ingredients but there was in the directions. I used a cup of cottage cheese. It was done in less than 3 hrs on high. It did not last long around here. Next time I am going to mix sausage with the hamburger and use ricotta instead of cottage cheese. Son is already asking for more and wants it often. Thanks for this great recipe.

  3. I like that you don't have to cook the noodles first which makes it a great reason to cook it in the crockpot. I figure if you have to bother boiling the noodles and frying the hamburger, you might as well get it done earlier and cook it in the oven. This was done in 2 1/2 hours on high. I had to turn it down because it was burning on the edges. This has good flavor (depending on the spaghetti sauce you use). It's a good idea not to make the noodles too big because it's hard to serve out of the crockpot if the noodles are large.

  4. My Husband and I really enjoyed this recipe. I cooked it on HIGH for 3 hours and it was perfect. The noodles were very tender and all the cheese melted together. I highly recommend this recipe. Thank you for posting it.
