Sorry, I didn't care for the flavor of this soup. Way too "tomato-y". I wonder if I was supposed to use a smaller can of tomato? I used 2 28oz cans of diced tomato. Instead of ham, I put a ham bone in for flavor and cooked over 6 hours on low, but lentils and veggies still very firm. Not sure if it's my crockpot or not. I have now turned it to high and will leave it on high for 2 hours.

Very, very tasty and easy to make -- even with my crazy (and copious) substitutions. I used sun-dried tomato chicken sausage instead. (Figured it was in the freezer. Why not use it up?) Also, I used the two cans of crushed tomoatoes (as per author's suggestion). Finally, left out marjoram (none in pantry) and used some regular mustard instead of the dry stuff. Still great!
