Crock Pot Root Vegetable Ground Beef Stew

"Got this one from my sister. This is also good made with deer or elk meat. Rutabaga needs to be cut small, because they take longer to cook. All those veggies!!! Has to be good for you!"

  • Place first 5 ingredients in pot.
  • Brown ground beef and add to pot.
  • Add tomatoes and bouillon mixture.
  • Add seasonings.
  • Cook on low for 10 hours.

  2. We enjoyed this stew. i skipped the rutabagas and basically guessed at the amounts of the veggies by using 2 potatoes, 2 turnips, 4 carrots and 1 onion. My tomatoes were only 15 oz so added 2 small cans of V-8. Very good and filling. Thanks for sharing!

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
