  1. You're a lifesaver Brenda! I gmaterry's review the other day. I had a potluck luncheon at work yesterday, and made this and took it along! Being extreemly low on funds this week, I was able to purchase everything for around five dollars! I followed your recipe excactly, except I added an 8 ounce pacage of shredded cheddar cheese for the last half hour of cooking. This is hearty and filling and everyone loved it! They must have, I came home with an empty crockpot! Thanks for posting this!

  3. This was so very delicious! I made it for a potluck at work and everyone just loved it! I managed to salvage 1 small bowl for by BH afterwards to bring home so that he could taste it and he also loved it! Good comfort food that will definitely stick to your ribs. I will be making this again. Thank you for sharing the recipe.

  4. We really enjoyed the flavor the cheese sauce gave to all the other ingredients, but the potatoes turned out very mushy, even though, because of another reviewer's comments, I didn't put them in at the beginning but waited until three hours before the casserole was done. I think the potatoes should be browned and crispy before adding them, and I would put the crispy potatoes in about 15 minutes before it's done. Otherwise, I would just use uncooked diced potatoes at the beginning. With either change I think the casserole would be perfect. We did enjoy it, though.

  5. We liked this recipe. I made it as writen. This was vert easy to put everything in the crockpot and pretty much forget about it. I added a tossed salad and supper was ready. Thanks Fluffy for such a easy and tasty dish.

Tweaks

  1. Made this for dinner last night and was very tasty. I over-cooked mine - and would guess that 5-6 hours would be better than the 8-10 hours I'd guess mine was. I used white onion in place of the green onions, and had to add a little garlic..because I can't cook without it. We'll make this again. Thank you.
