  • 8 rhodes dinner rolls, thawed but still cold
  • 1 (8 ounce) package hot dogs, 8 count

directions

  • Roll each roll into a 14 to 15-inch rope. Twist rope around each hot dog 4 or 5 times, securing ends in dough. Place on a large sprayed baking sheet. Bake immediately at 350°F 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately with desired condiments.
  • These curly dogs may also be cooked over hot coals at a summer cookout.

  1. In 1966 I opened my first Drive-In restaurant on Tacoma, Wa. I had a product I started that was 12" hot dog cut and fried in the 'deep fryer' that curled when cooked in the oil. I put it in a hamburger bun and dressed it like the burgers. Reason was I didn't want a hot dog bun, also. It was a local favorite for years and I take credit for the 'curly dog'... Dave Strong
