Curry Beef Short Ribs With Horseradish Sauce

"This is one of my main stand ins during winter months when I crave slow cooked flavors of beef. Horseradish and hint of curry may sound strange, but these two flavors go extremely well together. This recipe is not a beef curry recipe. Instead, a small amount of curry is used as a backdrop flavoring only....just a hint of curry and not meant as a curry dish. I love this simple rustic dish. It is a bit Asian and mostly Western inspired. Do not use Asian/Korean style thin beef short ribs used mainly for quick grilling. Although other cuts of beef will work (cubed), beef short ribs is best for this recipe. This recipe will work really well in crock pot too."

 1. Delicious!! I halved the recipe AND forgot the horseradish sauce in the fridge and it was STILL really good!
I can only imagine how much better it will be the next time I make it! It's a great change from the usual BBQ or Soy Sauce based recipes!
Thanks for a keeper!

 2. You are right the curry is a back drop flavor, not overpowering. It smelled so good as it was cooking. I didn't realize that it needed to bake so long so I had to prepare and cook the following day - Sunday dinner. I was so glad I did that because it made our meal after church so special. Really good recipe, especially if your family likes onions. The meat was tender and the sauce liquid was great poured over as a gravy.

 3. Easy recipe produced delicious ribs.. Did't really taste the curry at all...

 4. Wonderful recipe!! Awesome flavors! I seared the ribs and put everything in our crockpot and cooked it on Low for about 9.5 hours. I think the short ribs as a cut of beef are a little fatty for my taste, but the flavor is so good in this recipe that I may try this with another cut. The quantity of the sauce was way too much for us though. I'm going to look for another recipe to use it in. I think next time I could cut the quantity in half at least. I made mashed sweet potatoes and broccoli on the side. Thanks!

 5. This is very good. When I make it again, I will put more curry powder in it~~just didn't have as much curry flavor as I was expecting. We loved the extra umph the horseradish sauce added. Thanks for sharing!! :O)
