Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 12 lbs beef stew meat
  • 1 onion, cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 1 large potato, cut into 6 pieces
  • 2 large dried Chinese mushrooms, prepared and cut into quarters
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder with 2 tblsp. water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons oil

Directions

  1. Heat oil in pot until hot.
  2. Saute onion until brown; about 5 minutes.
  3. Add beef and sugar; stir-fry 3 minutes.
  4. Add soy sauce, salt and water; bring to boil.
  5. Cover and simmer 2 hours.
  6. Add potato, mushrooms and curry mixture; simmer 1 more hour.
  7. Serve hot.
