Dad T's Vanilla Ice Cream
"This was the recipe my Dad used to make us Ice Cream. I still use it even though the eggs aren't cooked. I warn people of this before serving it to them as the USDA recommends cooking the eggs first."

ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 2 1⁄4 cups sugar
- 5 cups milk
- 4 cups heavy whipping cream
- 4 1⁄2 teaspoons vanilla
directions
- Add sugar gradually to all ready beaten eggs. Beat until stiff.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Pour into ice cream drum that has been chilling in the freezer.
- Freeze according to your ice cream makers instructions.
- Make as many variations as you like from this basic recipe - add chocolate chips, oreos, peppermint sticks, heath bits, instant coffee, etc.
- I usually let it process until it slows a bit before adding mix ins.
