- 1 1⁄4 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine, softened
- 1⁄4 cup milk
- 1⁄4 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 ounces dark chocolate, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 3⁄4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup dried cherries
directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a large bowl, beat sugar, butter, milk, almond extract, melted chocolate and egg with an electric mixer until smooth.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, oats, chocolate chips, and dried cherries.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until no longer shiny.
- Immediately remove from cookie sheet and place on cooling rack.
