Crust
- 1 3⁄4 cups flour
- 1⁄3 cup cocoa
- 1⁄4 sugar
- 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
- 3⁄4 cup butter, chilled
- 1⁄3 - 1⁄2 cup strong coffee, cold

Filling
- 12 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted
- 2⁄3 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons milk
- 2 teaspoons coffee liqueur
- 1⁄2 cup walnuts, toasted, chopped
- 2 eggs, beaten
directions
- Crust: In a food processor, combine flour, cocoa, sugar and salt. Mix well. Distribute butter over flour and blend to resemble coarse meal.
- Add 1/3 cup coffee and blend until incorporated. If dough appears to be dry, add remaining coffee 1 T at a time.
- Remove dough and press into bottom and sides of 10" tart pan with removable bottom. Cover and refrigerate until chilled.
- Filling: Preheat oven to 350. Combine chocolate, sugar, butter, milk and liqueur in a large bowl and whisk to blend.
- Add walnuts and eggs, stirring to combine. Pour into chilled tart shell. Bake until top is dry and firm, 30 - 40 minutes. Cool on rack.
- Arrange strips of waxed paper in criss cross pattern on top of tart. Sift powdered sugar over. Carefully remove strips.
- Serve with ice cream if desired.
