  1. This is really good! It even earned a comment from my usually-indifferent DH :). I used ground turkey tonight but I imagine it would be very good with beef. I forgot to buy tomatoes with chiles so I used a can of diced tomatoes and a small can of diced green chiles. I wasn't sure if I should drain the tomatoes so I chose not to and that seemed to work out fine. We thought lots of things would work well in this--maybe some corn or black beans or olives? I used my own homemade crust which I infused with garlic (search "Oops, it's a fat free pizza crust" for my recipe!) and it worked great, though I did prebake the crust for about 5 minutes before adding the meat mixture. Thanks for posting, gailanng--this one will quite likely make it into our faves of 2011 book!

I'm just me, mother, grandmother...friend to many and a Louisianian. My Cajun and French Quarter Italian descent afforded me exposure to some of the best of foods. My passions are my family, decorating, cooking and gardening. Those very passions push me into constant awareness with always looking for something new to delight the senses, thus my favorite idiom...Inspire me, puuuullllllleeeeeeease! ...and I mean it, too.
