  1. Preheat oven to 350-degrees.
  2. Grease a 12-muffin tin.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients together, then add the remaining ingredients.
  4. Let batter stand 10 minutes,
  5. then spoon into muffin cups and bake about 18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean and muffins just barely start to pull away from the sides of the tin.
  6. Phase 2 add-in (optional): 1 medium apple, chopped fairly finely.
