Delicious Meatloaf (Secret Ingredient: Ketchup)

Meat Loaf
- 1 1⁄2 lbs extra lean ground beef
- 1⁄3 cup breadcrumbs
- 3 tablespoons of chopped onions
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1⁄3 cup ketchup
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon parsley

Sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- dried herb, of your choice (I like to put parsley, thyme, marjoram)
directions
- Mix all the Meat Loaf ingredients.
- Put in a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- Mix all the ingredients for the sauce. Put on Meat Loaf.
- Cook in oven at 350 degrees farenheit for about 1 hour. (I personnaly like it better a bit more cooked).

Very moist. I added a whole small onion and additional parsley. Next will add more pepper. Definitely worth a scond dinner. -
I followed the recipe and added a 1/3 cup of chopped bell pepper, I have just enough leftovers for my boyfriend to take to work for lunch...

YUM!!!! Followed recipe exactly. New meal on regular rotation in our house. I added a quarter teaspoon sage powder to the sauce, some fresh thyme leaves and fresh parsley.

Followed the directions explicitly...but this was not enjoyed by my family. I believe the "secret" should be to use a "less lean" beef. I used very expensive 93% lean beef...and, quite frankly, I will either throw the leftovers away or feed to dogs. Sorry, but it is simply not good! -
AMAZING!! Everytime I make it everyone asks for the recipe and for leftovers !
