"This is a super easy and yummy strawberry pie recipie I got from my mother-in-law. She originally got it from a fabulous neighborhood cookbooks when she lived in the mid-west."

ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 cup hot water
3 tablespoons cornstarch
Cool Whip or whipped topping
1 pint fresh strawberries
3 tablespoons strawberry Jell-O gelatin dessert
1 baked pie crust, cooled

directions

Cook sugar, water and cornstarch until clear and thick. Add jello and cook until jello is dissolved. Place fresh strawberries, sliced in pie crust. Pour jello mixture over strawberries. Let cool. Top with Cool Whip or whipped cream and lay 1 whole strawberry on top fo pie. Refrigerate until time to serve.
