Delicious Swedish Meatballs

"This is a recipe I came up with after trying to find the perfect Swedish meatball recipe. I ended up combining a bunch of different recipes to get something I liked. I recommend using an electric skillet for this."

  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
  • mix together bread crumbs and cream and set aside.
  • Mix together meat, spices, egg yolks,onions, and then the bread crumb mixture last.
  • Roll 1 ounce balls and set on a wax paper lined sheet pan.
  • Heat an electric skillet to 350 degrees and add the 3 tbl of clarified butter.
  • In 2 batches brown the outside of the meat balls.
  • Place onto a sheet pan and place into the oven.
  • Saute onions and mushrooms in the drippings from the meatballs.
  • Once onions are translucent, sprinkle with the flour to make a light roux.
  • Add the 3 cups of beef stock.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and the white pepper.
  • Take the meatballs out of the oven and place them into the sauce in the electric skillet.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve.
