Depot Coffee House Butterscotch Cookies

"Original recipe from Great Harvest Bread Company, when these are cooking everyone in the building will know. Using Crisco instead of butter makes the cookie fluffier, but the butter to Crisco ratio is equivalent."

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Beat together: Crisco, brown sugar.
  • Add eggs, molasses, milk, salt, baking soda, baking powder.
  • Add whole wheat flour.
  • Add rolled oats.
  • Mix in butterscotch chips by hand.
  • Bake about 12 minutes (depending on your oven).

  1. Made for New Kid on the Block Tag. These are awesome cookies. Made them for fellowship time at church and they were gone in no time. The only thing that I did different was to drop them by tablespoons on to my cookie sheets - I got 4 1/2 dozen cookies. I was also able to make the gluten free by using GF oats, GF flour mix and 1 tsp. xanthan gum. Thanks for posting this recipe Jack0173!
