Diane's Fresh Apple Cake With Caramel Glaze

"Diane wanted the taste of carmel apples so she added the glaze to a recipe that she had made before. This is a great tasting, moist cake. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream. The recipe comes from Diane Nemitz & Hometown recipes. Note: Nut lovers can add 1 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the cake batter."

  1. Wow! Wall to wall apples in this rich, moist cake! I used 4 peeled Gala apples for this recipe. The cake texture is like a bread pudding. The caramel glaze is luscious. My husband took this cake into work and it received rave reviews...people loved it with a fresh cup of coffee. Next time I will reduce the amount of apples a bit. Thanks, Barb!

  2. 10 stars!!! I made this in a sheet slab tin (left out the cinnamon sugar part) and added 1 TB of cinnamon to the recipe. Baked it for 1 hour, I poked about 20 holes in the cake (used the cake tester skewer) and poured the hot glaze over the hot cake and let it soak the glaze. Served cold - everyone loved it. Thanks for posting, I am making this one again!

  3. My son’s bday fell on Thanksgiving this year, so I chose this as his cake to compliment all the other dishes. Everyone loved it!! It is so moist and not too rich. I doubled the amount of glaze and am happy I did.

  4. It turned out really awesome, I just reduced the sugar by a half cup. Everyone has complimented this cake. Thanks Diane
