Directions

  1. Prepare, and bake the chocolate cake mix according to directions, in a 13x9-inch cake pan; cool; remove to wire rack.
  2. Meanwhile, prepare pudding according to package directions.
  3. Spread the pudding evenly into the bottom of another 13x9-inch pan.
  4. Tear the baked cake into small pieces, and gently push down into the pudding.
  5. Drizzle with 3/4 cup chocolate syrup.
  6. Spread with Cool Whip topping.
  7. Drizzle with remaining syrup.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  9. Refrigerate until serving.
