Doggie Treats (Pumpkin Peanut Butter)

"I have a finicky dog and have tried several recipes but this recipe has made my finicky pomchi very happy. And it should be noted that my 4 month old Calico kitten (Philecia) loves them too."

directions

  • Mix all ingredients together. Preheat oven to 350.
  • Spray cooking spray on hands to avoid sticking. Knead dough until all ingredients are dispersed and it is the consistency of pizza dough.
  • Spread dough onto a cookie sheet, filling the entire thing.
  • Cut into 30 squares, and make fork indents on each square. I have also used a doggie biscuit cutter. Then when removed from oven I cut again before lifting. Excess is still edible but not as pretty.
  • Bake 30 minutes, until biscuits are hard and slightly crunchy on the outside.
  • Cool down before giving to the dog.

Love, Love, Love, to cook and watch others enjoy the fruits of my labor. Have 2 sons, and 5 grandchildren. One of my sons is interested in culinary school and hopefully will attend so he can give Mom tips too! My all time favorite cookbook is "Calling All Cooks" (yellow 1st book) filled with Southern Recipes that are Tried and True! I am a police communications officer (dispatch for police and fire department) weekend shifts every week and drive a school bus when school is in session. Therefore most months of the year, I work 7 days a week. Fall is my favorite time of the year and I love to cook with pumpkin. Have a wonderful pumpkin recipe book that is out of this world and I prefer fresh pumpkin over canned as it TRULY makes a difference. I love to travel and look for any excuse to do road trips.
