Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 14 cups water, warm
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 cup milk, warm
  • 14 cup shortening
  • 14 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten in mixing bowl
  • 2 cups flour, beaten with a spoon
  • 1 cup flour, worked by hand

Directions

  8. Let rise in pan about 1 hour more in 90 degree Fahrenheit oven; should be doubled in size.
  9. Bake in 400 degree Fahrenheit oven for 10 minutes or until browned.
  10. Remove immediately into a towel; cover with another towel to cool.
  11. KOLACHES:
  12. Do as for rolls but when ready to bake make a large indention for filling.
  13. After filling is in, let rise for another 30 minutes in 90 degree Fahrenheit oven or until edges neaten up again.
  14. Delicious with any thickenend fruit for filling.
