Dorito Sandwich (for kids)

"Sounds gross, and probably is. A friend of mine (yes, an adult)has been eating this since she was little and apparently still eats it. I was so intrigued by the odd-ballness of this sandwich that I thought I should post it."

  1. I searched high and low for plain Doritos and I couldn't find them, so I substituted Nacho Cheese. This actually will be LOVED by kids, I have now had my carbs, fat, and sodium content for the day, but what the heck...you live only once. And it actually is better than the liverwurst and ruffles on Wonder bread I ate as a kid!

  2. Absolutely the best Dorito sandwich I have ever had. Great with a drop of Dave's Insanity Sauce on top.

  3. Reminds me of an English "Chip Buttie" - Potato chips on a bread and butter sandwich try it with ketchup as well

  4. when i was in 5th grade and moved to the burbs and had school lunch, my new friend Ginger introduced me to potato chip sandwiches on a hard roll. i am not sure of the dorito thing, but potato chips, wow! the last time i ate it was when i was pregnant with DD1 38 years ago, lol

  5. Wow! This is a really different sandwich. This is not healthy at all but my kids sure enjoyed it! I won't be serving these often but it is nice to have a change of pace. Plus it maked those kiddos happy!

  1. I love chips like Doritos or Cheetos on the side of a sandwich - I'd never before thought to put them ON the sandwich, or for that matter, to make a sandwich with just the chips! LOL I really enjoyed this for a late night snack and will enjoy again in the future. Next time I'd like to try some of the spicy Doritos instead of the plain nacho cheese ones. Thanks for the recipe!

  2. My grandchildren like it. They also add Doritos or chips to all their sandwiches and wraps. They also use Doritos in place of bread and make mini ham, turkey or whatever meat sandwiches. My grown up daughter favorite food is Doritos (nacho or cool ranch) dipped in baked beans. I think we all have our childhood favorites. For me it is a grilled banana and peanut butter sandwich with chips (Doritos work great) crunched inside. Thank for the recipe and memories.
