  • Melt 1 cup chocolate chips in saucepan.
  • Set aside.
  • Beat butter until creamy; gradually add 1 c sugar, beating well.
  • Add egg, milk, and vanilla, mixing well.
  • Add melted chips, mixing until blended.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
  • Stir in remaining chocolate chips.
  • Shape dough into balls, 1 tablespoon at a time; roll balls in 1/2 c sugar.
  • Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 400 for 8-10 minutes.
  • (Cookies will be soft and will firm up as they cool.).
  • Remove to wire racks to cool.
