  • In a large, resealable plastic bag, combine the flour,salt & pepper. Add chicken, a few pieces at a time, and shake to coat.
  • In a large skillet, heat oil. Brown chicken in oil on all sides; remove to paper towels. Drain drippings and return chicken to the pan.
  • In bowl, combine the sauce ingredients and stir together. Pour over chicken. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 35-40 minutes or until chicken juices run clear. Serve with rice.

  1. Chicken was moist, tangy and easy to prepare. I found the molasses a little overpowering though. Next time I'll reduce the amount used. Thanks for sharing.
     
  2. Saw this recipe in Taste of Home and just had to try it. I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of using just drumsticks--big meaty ones I had. The molassesy sauce complemented the dark meat really well.
