These cookies really have a good flavor and do taste like a Dreamsicle. The batter is a bit thick and they don't really spread out much while baking, so it's adviseable not to make them any bigger than the suggested tablepooon size or so. I was also very skeptical of the high baking temp, luckily I kept my eyes on the first batch. At 375, I had to pull them out at 10 minutes because they were starting to burn. All other batches I did at 350 for 15 minutes on a greased cookie sheet. They turned out much better. After a day in an air-tight container they did harden up quite a bit. Given that the higher temp 10 minute time resulted in burning, perhaps trouble shooting the hardness with more butter or decreasing the flour will result in a softer cookie.

My brother gave my family these as a gift, cookies in a jar. They were very yummy. He also said to watch them very closely, they will burn on the bottoms if not careful. Ones with vanilla chips taste just like orange dreamsicles, but if you use semi sweet chips, it tastes like chocolate covered oranges. Can't decide which I liked more!!

My friend has a group that meets once a month for a pot luck and each with a different theme. This past months theme was "a unique ingredient", something unusual that you wouldn't expect to see in a recipe. She chose these tang cookies She followed the recipe exactly but had to use three eggs as the batter was too dry, and was like powder otherwise. She also said that perhaps the oven temp is too high because she's never baked cookies at 375 before. However, the cookies were well recieved with only one participant who was able to guess the secret ingredient. Overall everone really liked them! Thank you
