This is my first Zaar Review and I picked a 5 star recipe! This was great. I love almond paste, but hate to go to the work of using it in pastries. This got me my fix. I made two full size loaves, they weren't really tall, but the texture was still perfect. The outside has this great little crunch to it. This was easy to make too...a real winner PanNan!!

I liked this very much, but I felt it was missing an element--I don't know whether something as simple as some salt in the batter would do it, but there is, despite the lovely almond flavor, a certain blandness to the taste. I halved the recipe and the result was one very pretty full sized loaf. I will try again with the salt and maybe a bit of spice.
