- 2⁄3 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1⁄4 cup yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 2⁄3 cups cake flour
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons ginger
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
- 2⁄3 cup applesauce

- 2 apples
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons water
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
directions
- Cream sugar and butter.
- Beat in egg, yogurt, and vanilla.
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Add dry ingredients alternately with applesauce.
- Pour into lightly greased 9" pan.
- Arrange sliced apples on top.
- Brush on topping.
- Bake 350 for 30-35 minute.
