  1. As a child my dear belated father would take me to breakfast after church...he would order the big apple and I the baby apple......making this recipe reminded me of a wonderful moment in time...I did alter the recipe a tad by using baking soda to help hold the rise. I do suggest using a glass pie plate to create a beautiful look I remember seeing at the restaurant.

  2. I just made these for Sunday breakfast and they were delicious! I used fresh cranberries and added them with the apples and nuts. I will definitely make these again.

  3. I used apple and pear for this and it was delicious. It did not puff too much but still was yummy. Oh it was minus the cranberries too.

  5. This was so pretty when it came out of the oven, all puffed up. I wish I had a digital! Anyways, I used margarine, a Red Delicious apple (all I had right now :(), 4 medium eggs, w.w. pastry flour, and no cranberries. I also did not use the brown sugar, but in hindsight, think it needs it. My egg hating DD ate it and my sick 4 yo ate some, so I consider it a success! Thanks Charlotte!
