- 2 tea bags, Earl Grey
- 1 cup boiling water
- 3⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3⁄4 cup cake flour
- 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1⁄3 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1⁄3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Butter an 8-inch square baking dish.
- Place tea bags in heatproof bowl; pour boiling water over. Let steep 8 minures. Remove and discard tea bags.
- Stir in brown sugar and and 3 tablespoons cocoa powder.
- Sift flour with remaining cocoa pwder and baking powder in separate bowl.
- In a large bowl, combine egg with sugar, melted butter, milk and vanilla.
- Stir flour mixture into egg mixture.
- Spread in prepared baking dish. Carefully pour tea mixture over batter but do not mix it inches.
- Bake 25 minutes. Cool 5 to 10 minutes.
- Serve warm.
