Earth Friendly All Purpose Cleaner

"WOW! No streaks, no smears, no buffing. This will clean ceramic tile counter tops, windows and their vinyl casings, SS appliances, sealed wood AND it removes hairspray from mirrors. So far that's all I've tried it on, as I came up with this recipe just this morning. I've been a cleaning fool today, experimenting on everything. I love it...Let me know what you think."

  1. I am a bit leery of using "green" products to actually get in there and get stuff clean but WOW! I am sold on this one! My DH and I have 2 kids with one on the way so we wanted to get away from cleaning products that have a ton of chemicals in them so after I stumbled across the non-food area of Zaar, we decided to try this because of the sanitizing effect of the rubbing alcohol. I LOVE IT! I use it on everything - windows, mirrors, the ENTIRE bathroom, inside and outside of the fridge...I could go on and on! I do add a tsp of dish soap and a few drops of orange oil to kind of kill that vinegar smell. Other than that it's great! Thank you so much for posting! This has saved us a fortune, has pointed us a step in the right direction toward removing all chemicals and has even given us more space in our home (since I've cleared out all other cleaners from under the sink in both the kitchen and bathroom).

  2. I'm a little picky with cleaning products, but wanted to give this a try. The first test was on the soap residue in the washing machine. Wow! Went through it in a breeze. On glass, it's a dream. Much better than Windex. Even the cooktop sparkled. You can't beat the price either. Very economical. I'll most certainly be making this part of my cleaning routine. I did try it on the stainless steel appliances, but wasn't at all pleased with the results. Honoured to make this as a "Thank You" for voting for Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia in the 2010 Kraft Hockeyville Competition.

  3. INSTANT TRAIL ANT KILLER! The little monsters came to 'visit' my kitchen and i gave them a quick squirt....fell over as they ran! Found their entry and sprayed several times and let set....it's been about 3 weeks now and no more...:) And of course I use it on my stainless steel, windows, mirrors and everything else I can make brilliantly clean...And, I put a spray bottle out in the barn too! Thank you for sharing!

  4. This is wonderful for windows and mirrors. My mother-in-law told me that using paper towels to clean will leave greasy smears, but not with this cleaner. My windows and mirrors sparkle and are streak free. *Update* I just cleaned the soap scum off my glass shower door and it worked beautifully! Oh, I also add a few drops of Dawn dish detergent when I make my solution. I love this stuff!!

  5. Great stuff! I used it on my microwave, oven and dishwasher doors, as well as my stainless steel sinks, & my mirror. I also used this on my computer monitor and on my reading glasses. And it is cheap.
