Easy Any Pie Filling Cobbler

"This cobbler is so easy to make. It can be made with any flavor pie filling. I make this when hubby wants a "nice" desert and I don't feel like "making" one."

  • Melt butter or margarine in 9 x 9 baking dish.
  • Mix sugar, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Add milk and mix well.
  • Pour batter into melted butter-- do not stir.
  • Pour pie filling into batter (I drop it by spoonful and put several spoons in the middle and then divide the rest into the corners and sides-- do not stir).
  • Bake@ 350° for 50 minutes to 1 hour or until golden brown.

I made this 3 tims n followed directions exactly, after 50 mins it still has butter bubbling around the edges, i am using 9x9 white corelle pan, if I take it out before 50 mins it still is raw and if I cook it 50 it looks burned, im setting oven at 350 n this is what it comes lout, HELP IM A GREAT COOK N BAKER, FOR SOME REASON I CAN NOT GET THIS ONE CORRECT, SHOULD I TURN MY. OVEN DOWN TO 325?

  1. This was a wonderful and easy recipe to make. I was looking for something quick and easy and this recipe was just the thing. I used apple pie filling and it was to die for. The only thing I did different was use self-rising flour and left off the salt and baking powder. Thanks for the wonderful recipe.

  3. I made this with some strawberry and rhubarb pie filling...seriously yummy. The only thing i did different is i put the pie filling in the pan first, then the butter then the topping before i baked. I would recommend this if you like something fast and easy but still tastes great! I went back and read reviews, the people who said it was swimming in butter, you must have made a mistake somewhere, all the butter in mine was soaked into the crust, there was none left anywhere.
     
  4. This was bery easy and my husband loved it. I followed the recipe exactly using blueberry pie filling. Will try again this week-end with apple per hubby's request.

Tweaks

  1. I used a 13x9 pan, baked for 45 minutes. Perfect!
     
  2. I used heavy duty foil to line my pan, dull side up, for easy clean up.
     
  3. I did 1 cup flour to half cup of sugar.
