directions

  • Brown the hamburger meat and chopped onions.
  • Drain the cooked hamburger.
  • Add both cans of soup and 1/2 cup of water.
  • Add salt, pepper, and a shake of garlic powder to taste.
  • Bring the sauce to a bubble, then simmer on low heat for 15 minutes or until thick, stirring occasionally.
  • Turn off the heat and stir in 1/2 cup of sour cream. We usually just put a big dollop into the sauce, adding more to our taste.
  • Spoon the sauce over cooked egg noddles. Enjoy!

  1. Yum! We actually keep Golden Mushroom soup on hand because it doesn't contain dairy. I was not sure about it after using the two cans of soup... but then added some homemade yogurt for the sourcream and the flavors just popped! (Yes, I know that yogurt has dairy- certain family members had to take their Lactaid!). I still think that 1 can would be enough with some beef broth in place of the missing soup.
