Easy Beef Stroganoff

- cooked egg noodles
- 1 lb hamburger
- 1⁄4 cup diced onion
- 2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans condensed golden mushroom soup
- 1⁄2 cup water (I use the soup can)
- 1⁄2 cup sour cream
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
directions
- Brown the hamburger meat and chopped onions.
- Drain the cooked hamburger.
- Add both cans of soup and 1/2 cup of water.
- Add salt, pepper, and a shake of garlic powder to taste.
- Bring the sauce to a bubble, then simmer on low heat for 15 minutes or until thick, stirring occasionally.
- Turn off the heat and stir in 1/2 cup of sour cream. We usually just put a big dollop into the sauce, adding more to our taste.
- Spoon the sauce over cooked egg noddles. Enjoy!

Yum! We actually keep Golden Mushroom soup on hand because it doesn't contain dairy. I was not sure about it after using the two cans of soup... but then added some homemade yogurt for the sourcream and the flavors just popped! (Yes, I know that yogurt has dairy- certain family members had to take their Lactaid!). I still think that 1 can would be enough with some beef broth in place of the missing soup.
