Questions & Replies

  1. I know this is probably going to sound silly, but what temperature do you set the electric frying pan?

  1. We have been making this for years using cream of mushroom soup, with onions and a can of mushroom. Instead of putting potatoes in it we put it onto of mashed potatoes. Yummy!

  2. I only gave it 3 starts because I totally changed this recipe. I dumped the cheese soup and used Healthy Request Cream of Mushroom Soup (has no MSG) instead. Then I seasoned my pork chops with the salt, pepper and 1 Tablespoon of Mrs. Dash Original Seasoning. I added 1 tablespoon minced garlic when I added the potatoes (cup to 1" cubes) and onion ( 1 medium red finely diced). Just before I plated it - I stirred in 1 cup Mexican Blend Cheese and simmered it until the cheese melted. I did not serve it in a casserole dish because it seemed stupid to dirty another dish. I also do not have an electric skillet so I just used one of my large skillets and cooked it on my gas stove.

  3. I made a few changes because of the comments others made. I seasoned my chops with pepper and season salt. I also only added about a half a can of milk and added about a tablespoon of garlic. I also used two cans of diced potatoes as I didn't feel like cutting potatoes. I also topped this with about a cup of shredded cheddar cheese. The boys and I liked this but hubby didn't. I too think as written the recipe would be a bit bland. I thought it was good with the changes made.

  4. This is good but I sautee my onions with the chops for a nice glaze and a rich flavor on the onions and I really like it better with real cheese and milk homemade sauce/soup instead of the canned cheese soup. It's great even as leftovers.

  5. Awesome

Tweaks

  1. I have a similar recipe from the back of a soup can years ago. I use cream of mushroom soup instead of cheese soup and apple juice instead of milk. The taste is unique and delicious.

  2. used real homemade cheese sauce/soup instead of canned and sauteed the onions along with the chops so they were nicer and browned.
