Directions

  1. Saute onion and celery until tender.
  2. In a Dutch oven or large pot make a roux out of flour and chicken broth.
  3. Add the tomatoes and tomato sauce along with shredded chicken.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Add file gumbo, cayenne and okra.
  6. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  7. serve over hot, cooked rice.
