Easy Microwave Fudge

"I have been making this microwave fudge ever since I've owned a microwave -- since the early 1980s. I particularly like it when made with flavoured chocolate chips. Nuts can be added if you wish; I recommend toasted walnuts, chopped fairly small."

directions

  • Have ready a 12x8 baking dish, lined with wax paper (you can also lightly butter the dish, instead of using the wax paper).
  • In a large glass bowl, melt chocolate chips in the microwave-- check and stir every 30 seconds or so; it will likely take about two minutes, depending on your microwave's power.
  • Stir melted chocolate until smooth.
  • With a wooden spoon or sturdy spatula, stir in sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, icing sugar and salt.
  • Pour into prepared pan, smooth top, and chill until firm.
  • Cut into small squares to serve.

  1. This is about as easy as fudge-making gets! No candy thermometers required. The only thing I've found about this fudge is it tends to get a little soft if left at room temperature, but only if you leave it out for a long time.

  2. This fudge was foolproof. It was so quick and easy to make, there was minimal cleanup and (best of all!) my guests couldn't get enough of it. So rich and chocolatey! I will definetely use this recipe again. Thanks!

  3. This recipe is a must for the holidays...I will be making it every Christmas! It's really yummy with chopped walnuts. People couldn't believe it only took me 3 minutes to make..they all wanted the recipe. The only problem with it is that I can't stop eating it!

  4. Lennie, you are awesome! This recipe was so quick and easy and the fudge tasted like my mom's -- except she slaves over a hot stove! (I think her ingredients are basically the same, but she just doesn't use her microwave much.) I am going to be making fudge all the time now!

  5. I am framing this recipe and hanging it in my kitchen!! What a quick and easy way to get my chocolate fix. This fudge had a great flavor and a nice consistency. The only recommendation I would make would be to warm the condensed milk before stirring it in with the chocolate. The room temp. milk seemed to cool the chocolate too quickly and I had a hard time mixing in the other ingredients. I can't wait to try this with other chip flavors. Thanks for sharing!!
