  • Brown ground meat and onions. Season with cajun seasoning while browning. I like Tony Cacchere's. Add tomatoes and okra. Cover and simmer about 20 minutes, adding corn in the last 10 minutes. Serve over rice.

  1. Oh, good grief! This is NOT gumbo. It's, like, NOWHERE near even an approximation of gumbo.
     
  2. THIS.IS.NOT.GUMBO. This is highly offensive to the eyes and the palate, cher! Call it "My Culinary Concoction," but stop offending Cajun and Creole nation. Merci beaucoup. (It's Tony Chachere for those keeping score)
     
  3. This is the base to I add bacon to mine and use Chinese Five Spice. I also use different types of bell pepper to add color to mine. I hate sea food so I dont add it to mine.
