Easy Oreo Ice Cream

"I got this recipe from my boyfriend's mother. I like it because it's yummy, and doesn't require an ice cream machine!Cook time is actually the 'freezing' time."

  • Beat whipping cream until thick.
  • In seperate bowl, beat egg yolks and condensed milk together.
  • Mix cream into egg mixture.
  • Fold in crushed oreos.
  • Freeze.

  1. Awesome! If this isn't the old recipe from the 80s bags of Oreo's, I don't know what is. That recipe is a reprint from an even older bunch. My Memere remembered this one when I made it for her back in 1983 or so. The condensed milk gives it away. Very tasty! Thanks for the memory lane trip TGirl!
     
  2. This cookies n cream ice cream tasted great. I added a teaspoon or two of vanilla extract just to try to make it a little more authentic flavored. It turned out a bit richly creamy for my taste, so next time I might try to substitute some half and half for some of the cream. But otherwise, it was great to be able to make ice cream without messing around with an ice cream maker! I just followed the directions, put it in the freezer, and then stirred it every now and then. Better than buying store bought! Thanks for posting this recipe it was incredibly easy.
