Easy-Peasy Scrambled Peach Cobbler

"Need a quick and easy dessert? This scrambled peach cobbler is a variety of the traditional peach cobbler - the difference is that the crust is "scrambled" with the mix, instead of on top. The prep time is only 5 minutes, and it makes a delicious dessert...and the best part is that the recipe is so easy to remember! Just remember "the five 1s...""

directions

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large, glass baking dish, put in the stick of butter (whole is fine) and put it in the oven to let the butter melt while the oven heats.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and milk.
  • Add peaches to the mixture. (The number of ounces can vary slightly, no problem, and you can use canned slices or cut halves, whichever you prefer -- I buy halves and then cut each half into four bite-sized pieces before adding them to the mix).
  • Pull dish out of the oven and pour the mixture in with the melted butter.
  • Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
  • OPTIONAL: After baking, while the cobbler is cooling, I like to sprinkle a little bit of powdered sugar and cinnamon on top to give it a little more flavor and "pretty it up" a little. :).
  • PLEASE NOTE: In a reply to a review on this recipe, I apologize for being unclear before. When you add any ingredients, you must then stir them together. I assumed stirring the mix was an obvious step, but apparently I was mistaken. Again, my sincerest apologies.

  1. This was pretty blah. I did read the note about mixing the ingredients, and it still turned out kind of swimming in butter; maybe I did everything but mix the bowl mixture with the melted butter? I didn't think I forgot that step, but maybe I did. The taste was okay, but the texture was definitely a mess. I will say that reheated leftovers had a slightly better consistency. I just wasn't lucky with this recipe, sorry to say.

  2. This did not work out for me. I followed the instructions and think it may have been really important to stir the butter into the batter before baking. My recipe was ruined as I removed it from the oven with butter floating around a solid chunk of fruit and batter. I submit this review to save another from making my same mistake.
