Easy Quick Homemade Bread and Biscuits

"I usually make bread in the bread machine. One night, when I didn't have time for the bread machine, I used my kitchen aid mixer recipe book and modified their recipe for 60-minute rolls. The result --homemade bread and biscuits in less than 60 minutes!"

  1. Ok, I had to leave a review since this is my second time making this in two weeks. Yes, it's that good. I made it with whole milk instead. Also, I think if your having bread ithink you need to use real butter instead of a substitute. Let's be honest, real butter isn't gong to add that many extra calories. I also just went ahead and made two loafs. Thank you for the recipe is so good!

  2. I used butter (there is nothing like the real thing), honey instead of sugar and added about 1/4 c. potato flakes to the yeast mixture to encourage the yeast to do its job. In addition, I am trying to switch to whole wheat flour and used 2 C. all purpose flour and about 2 1/2 C. whole wheat flour. Yummy bread! I will keep this recipe for years to come at my fingertips.

  3. I wanted a quick recipe for bread, so I used this one but modified it to what I was looking for and it turned out great. I've never even made bread before (besides pizza dough). I substituted 4 1/2 C whole wheat flour & 1/2 cup flax seed meal for the all-purpose flour, real butter, low fat milk (it's what I had) and honey and molasses for the sugar. It came out perfect, just like something in a fancy restaurant and was especially delish warm with butter. I'm thrilled! Thanks!

  4. WOW!!!!!!! I made bread! :) Well, I found it to be rather difficult, but that's because I had to borrow flour and try to figure out if my yeast would convert. This is beautiful bread and made plenty for tomorrow!

  5. Most of my bread making attempts have failed miserably!,With THIS recipe, I had my first true success!! It was definitely quick and the end result was a yummy bread that reminded both my husband and I of "fancy restaurant" bread, freshly made, of course! On my second try with this recipe, I ran out of all-purpose flour and quickly substituted with Ralston wheat (dry) hot cereal, and a half cup old-fashioned rolled oats. Again, these were very yummy!! Thanks so much for sharing this one!!! I can do BREAD!!

Tweaks

  1. Just made this bread tonight, and wow, absolutely amazing. I used real butter instead of substitute, and whole milk instead of skim. I also brushed the top of it with garlic butter before baking it, again when it was fresh out of the oven, and again after it was sliced. We served it as garlic bread with pasta, and absolutely loved it. Fluffy and delicious on the inside, and just the right amount of crust on the outside. I can't believe this took as little time as it did to make! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. Highly recommended!
