  1. I LIKE RAISINS, & am always on the lookout for additional raisin sauce variations! This one is GREAT, & I found that it goes well, not only with ham, but also with chicken [believe it or not!] as well as with my own Recipe #204267! Another time, I might EXclude the mustard & vinegar & sweeten it just a little more to find out how it'll go on ice cream & pound cake!! Thanks much for this great recipe!

  2. Excellent, Kitz!!! We really enjoyed this wonderful sauce on our Easter Ham slices. YUM... I let it cook a little longer to "plump" my dried out raisins and added a little more brown sugar.

  3. Excellent sauce! Has a slight sweet and sour flavor but not as strong as something like dipping sauce for eggrolls. Went very nicely with ham! Thanks for posting!

  4. This is probably one of the worst recipes I have ever tried. I ended up with a pot of glue that had raisins in it. I wouldn't even serve it at Easter dinner yesterday and threw it out. I really depend on reviews and I don't think the other reviewers have ever tried a raisin sauce that was edible. This was just terrible.

  5. Just as advertised - easy, quick and very tasty. I made exactly as posted and we all enjoyed it.

Tweaks

  1. Substitute Apple Cider Vinegar for the white and definitely some more raisins.

  2. I thought it was too sugary and too low a sauce to raisin ratio, so I added some salt to taste, maybe a teaspoon and a half, and some extra raisins, maybe another quarter of a cup.
