"These are perfect little snacks to bring to a potluck were there are kids. I usually bring a tray of these and a tray of Recipe #430820 and the kids just gobble these all up."

  • Remove a thin slice from the side of the egg, so the egg will not roll over; This will be the bottom of the mouse.
  • Slice the salami down the middle.
  • Cut 2 thin slices, lengthwise, from the inside of each salami half, this will be the tails.
  • Cut the halves in two, this will be the ears.
  • At the small part of the egg and in the center, cut a small slit, just big enough to insert the broccoli floret, this is the nose.
  • Just above the nose, cut two holes for the raisins to be inserted, this will be the eyes.
  • Starting at the smaller part of the egg, where the nose is, cut two slits on each side, 1/3 of the way down the egg and insert two triangular pieces of salami, this will be the ears.
  • Slice cheese cube in half crosswise to form two cheese triangles, one for each mouse.
  • Plate mice on a dark platform and decorate with cheese pieces and serve.

  1. With food like these even DD can't say no! The best think beside the fact that she ate one mouse is that she helped making it. She just didn't agree with the broccoli nose and decided with a Pinocchio like carrot nose. Next time I'll let my 16 month old to make one as well. Thanks for a lovely recipe.
