  • 2 tablespoons soft butter
  • 12 cup slivered almonds
  • 12 cup candied cherry
  • 1 (18 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 12 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 12 cups eggnog
  • 12 teaspoon rum or 1/2 teaspoon rum flavoring
  • 14 cup butter, melted

  • Grease a Bundt pan with the soft butter.
  • Press the almonds and cherries against the side and bottom of the pan to make a pretty pattern.
  • Dust lightly with flour and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl combine cake mix, nutmeg, eggs,eggnog, melted butter, and rum flavoring.
  • Beat until smooth.
  • Pour batter into pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes or until the cake springs back when pressed lightly.
  • Let cake cool in pan for 10 minutes before turning it out.
  • Cool before serving.
