Eggnog Cookies

"Got this recipe from a friend. I'm not a huge eggnog fan, but the taste is subtle. Note that cooking time assumes 2 batches of cookies. This may vary depending on how many cookies you can fit into your oven."

  • Heat oven to 300 F.
  • Cream together butter and sugar.
  • Add eggnog, vanilla and egg yolks and mix until smooth.
  • Meanwhile in a separate bowl mix dry ingredients well.
  • Combine dry and wet ingredients and mix until combined, do not over-mix.
  • Spoon small balls of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, leaving room for them to expand as they cook.
  • Bake about 15 minutes, until edges start to brown.
  • While baking the cookies, make glaze by mixing eggnog and sugar until smooth.
  • Remove cookies from oven and spoon glaze onto them. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon and nutmeg.
