- 1 1⁄4 cups white sugar
- 3⁄4 cup butter, softened
- 1⁄2 cup eggnog
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 1⁄4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1⁄2 cups powdered sugar for glaze
- 3 tablespoons eggnog for glaze
directions
- Heat oven to 300 F.
- Cream together butter and sugar.
- Add eggnog, vanilla and egg yolks and mix until smooth.
- Meanwhile in a separate bowl mix dry ingredients well.
- Combine dry and wet ingredients and mix until combined, do not over-mix.
- Spoon small balls of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, leaving room for them to expand as they cook.
- Bake about 15 minutes, until edges start to brown.
- While baking the cookies, make glaze by mixing eggnog and sugar until smooth.
- Remove cookies from oven and spoon glaze onto them. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon and nutmeg.
