Electric Iced Tea
"I got this from the bartender at my favorite restaurant. He serves the best mojito (mango majito in particular), but this is my all-time favorite drink. It differs from the Long Island Iced Tea in that it doesn't have tequila. Some bartenders make this drink using 7-Up instead of Coke, but I usually make it at home using Diet Coke."

- 1⁄2 ounce vodka
- 1⁄2 ounce gin
- 1⁄2 ounce white rum
- 1⁄4 ounce triple sec or 1/4 ounce Cointreau liqueur
- 3 ounces prepared sweet-and-sour mix
- 4 ounces cola
- ice cube
directions
- Fill a highball glass with ice.
- Add vodka, gin, rum, Triple Sec or Cointreau and the sweet and sour mix, in that order.
- Add enough cola to almost reach the top of the glass.
- Garnish with a slice of lime or lemon.

I may have just found a new favorite cocktail. I does taste like tea. I left out the gin (gives me a headache) and just used a little more of the vodka and rum (I used Captain Morgan because that is the only rum I keep in the house) Absolutely loved it. Thanks NWGal. At first I felt silly because I hadn't thoroughly read the recipe and thought it included real tea. But I made it anyway. I made my own sweet and sour mix. It was pretty good. In hot weather this ice cold drink deceptively tastes like a really delicious iced tea :) Thanks for posting. -
This is great! This has been about the same recipe that Ive always used to make my long island's at home, except with 1/2 oz of triple sec. The key to having a good long island is a good quality sweet and sour. Ive tried so many brands from even making my own and my top favorite is stirrings brand. Its actually called their lemon drop mix, but its the same thing as sweet and sour. Try it, or any other suggestions to what others use would be great also. Cookiedog's picture looks like it was a good kind since its so yellow in color. So cookiedog if you see this, please share what kind you used! Thanks :)

This site used to be awesome. It was at the top of its game when it was called Recipezaar, but that was many years ago. The site was purchased by Scripps and belly-flopped into mediocrity. A few of the faithful members remained, hoping to wait out the storm of corporate nonsense. But alas, it never got better and just continued on its terminal path to nothingness. So most of the loyal members have vanished and made homes at better recipe sites.
