Ella Mae's Icing
"Another heirloom recipe I got from my great aunt, who (I think) got it from her great aunt. My aunt has served this on Banana Spice Cake and on Chocolate Cake. I'm sure it's delicious on any kind of cake though!

ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups crisco vegetable shortening
- 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 1 (14 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons vanilla extract
directions
- Cream Crisco, sugar, and butter together.
- While whipping, gradually add evaporated milk.
- Add vanilla extract.
- Continue to whip until soft peaks form.

I love collecting recipes and cookbooks, which is funny because I don't do any of the actual cooking in my house, at least not at present. I do come up with ideas for tweaking recipes though and I do occasionally bake.
I love anything to do with arts and crafting. I crochet, knit, draw, paint ceramics, etc. My idea of heaven would be to have my own studio to explore as many mediums and techniques that catch my interest.
