  1. Excellent and refreshing salad, and authentic too. I spent a month in Ethiopia in 2009, and their salads tend to have sharp, sour flavours. I made half a batch, but the full amount of dressing so it's ready for the repeat salad I will make tomorrow. :) Used red onion, balsamic vinegar and an anaheim chilli. Thanks so much for posting.

  2. Love Ethiopian salad, so this was just up my alley. I used red wine vinegar and some extra lemon and it came out great.

  3. I could totally see this being a perfect side to grilled meats, but I liked it so much when I made it that I ended up eating this for lunch all by itself! I tried it immediately after making it, plus I tried some a couple hours later, and I ate the leftovers the next day. While it was good at all points, I think it tasted best a couple hours after making it. That way, the flavors had time to meld, but it wasn't so long that the tomatoes and cukes were getting soggy. I used the red wine vinegar and a Serrano for the pepper. Thanks for posting, Dreamer, and sorry for the not-so-hot cellphone photo, lol! Made for CQ2017 Ethiopia

  4. Tasty but kind of bland. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow after the flavors meld. A good complement to the spicy meat and veggies of our Ethiopian dinner.

  5. This was simple and refreshing. I was nervous about the jalapeno, but didn't need to be, it added to the flavor but not too much heat. Had this dish with food that was rich. The acid of the dish was perfect to cut through the fat of the rest of the meal. It was great. Thanks for posting Dreamer.
