- 1 (14 ounce) can northern white beans, drained & rinsed
- 1 white onion, diced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1⁄4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 28 ounces tomato sauce
- 1 (14 ounce) can chicken broth
- 6 ounces ditali pasta
directions
- Sautee onion and garlic in olive oil until soft. Add beans, tomato sauce and broth. Simmer for 20-minutes, stirring frequently. Cook pasta and drain. Add beans and sauce and mix thoroughly. Serve right away.

I made this for dinner last night and it was wonderful. I did however add just a few more herbs and some hot pepper flakes to the sauce. It was such a simple and delicious recipe. I didn't have the ditilini, so instead I used up the medium shells that were in the pantry. Instead of fully cooking them in the water, I only half cooked them in the water. Then I added them to the tomatoe sauce to finish cooking and to thicken it just a bit. This will be one that is made again. Thank you so much! :)
