Falafel Ensemble

"Mine and my girlfriend's favorite falafel. I own the food processor and she owns the frying wok, so we can only make this when we're together. This recipe was adapted from several other recipes and modified. It's still a work in progress- sometimes it seems too salty, sometimes not salty enough- so I will update and modify as needed."

directions

  • 1. Combine first 5 ingredients in food processor and process until just slightly chunky.
  • 2. Scrape into a medium sized bowl and stir in remaining ingredients.
  • 3. Let sit at room temperature for 2 hours or refrigerate overnight.
  • 4. Form dough into 2 inch round balls and deep fry in 3 - 4 batches in peanut oil at 350 degrees F for 5 - 7 minutes, or until dark brown.
  • 5. Drain on paper towels and serve. I like mine in a Napa Cabbage leaf.
